Glass Container's necessary material: Soda Ash Price climbed by 10% In August and it's going up all the way.
According to reports, the price of soda ash climbed by 10% in August and is expected to rise further, which is bad news for glass container producers.
Soda ash is a required material for glass containers. According to the research, China glass container manufacturers used up 17.265 million tons of soda ash material during the last seven months, an increase of 8% over the same period last year. And the amount of stockpiled from all the soda ash companies is only little over 100,000 tons. Because the companies were mending equipment from March to April, the inventory was very low, and the demand for glass vessels was growing, the price of soda ash jumped significantly. However, the good news is that this increase will not continue long, because the first batch of soda ash manufacturers have practically finished mending equipment and have begun production successfully; all of the remaining factories will begin production gradually, and the price will eventually return to normal.
Soda ash is just one of the elements used to make glass containers; others include sand, cullet, and limestone, which Cupwind employs throughout manufacture.
